As part of efforts to implement the principles of open science and improve access to the results of publicly funded research, a survey was conducted within the research community entitled Questionnaire on the use of the right of secondary publication in practice (hereinafter: the questionnaire). The purpose of the questionnaire was to examine the level of knowledge and understanding of copyright, with a particular emphasis on the retention of copyright and the assertion of the right to secondary publication. The questionnaire was published on various websites and sent to researchers and support staff in research organisations via email.

A comprehensive analysis has been carried out based on the questionnaire. Namely, with the findings of the research, we aim to contribute to the further development of open science policies in Slovenia and to the more effective transfer of knowledge into the broader societal environment.
