Support for dCOBISS

Open Science Monitoring and the COBISS digital repository (dCOBISS)

In the context of the Action Plan for Open Science for the implementation of Action 6.2: Open Science to improve the quality, efficiency and responsiveness of the Resolution on the Slovenian Science, Research and Innovation Strategy 2030, activity A6.2.1/3.6 »Establishment of a Slovenian Open Science Monitor« specifies that the Slovenian Open Science Monitor shall demonstrate Slovenia's performance in the area of open access to research publications, data, dedicated research software and other relevant digital objects, and, following the example of good practices of other countries in this area, illustrate the level of openness of the Slovenian publicly funded research system. The monitoring or analytics of open access itself is governed by the COBISS digital repository - dCOBISS. It has also been upgraded for 2025 to be in line with the EU Open Science Monitor and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

dCOBISS support and data entry

The sub-working group under Action A6.2.1/3.6 of the Open Science Action Plan has prepared an update of the Instructions for dCOBISS Contributors. The instructions, which were previously available in three versions, have now been merged and can be accessed at IZUM website.

Support to dCOBISS contributors is provided in two ways: technical support is provided by the Institute of Information Sciences (IZUM), and content support is provided by experts in researcher bibliographies and data consultants in the framework of support service of Open library, and other established networks (e.g. groups of librarians, data consultants), in accordance with the letter from the IGCRI: Input of relevant data into COBISS to ensure quality open access analytics, from 28.11.2025.

Librarians and contributors can contact regarding information on how to enter data into dCOBISS or for substantive assistance, the contact persons of Open library.
